TOP 10 REASONS TO OFFICIATE FOR WINNER'S EDGE

1. Make new friends

Refereeing is a great way of meeting new people with a common lacrosse interest.

 2. Keeping fit and active

Officiating is a great way to keep fit and active. It doesn't matter how fit you are now, we have some of the best trainers who bring the best out of our members.

3. Build your confidence

WPSLA takes pride in our training and education, and will give you the tools to make the right decisions. Officiating will provide the confidence you will use in life.

4. Learn more about the game

Have you sat watching lacrosse and wonder why decisions are made? As an official, you will learn the rules and get a better understanding of our game.

5. Doing something for the community

WPSLA provides accredited officials for every age group in youth and MS competition. As an official, you are helping the future of girls lacrosse in WPA and WV, and the future of our/your kids.

6. Be a part of the game

You don't need to have kids or play to be a part of the game. Officiating puts you in the middle of the field and makes you the most important person on the field.

7. Make it to the pros?

You don't need to play to make it to the big time. With hard work and dedication, you can make it to the big time. Our officials are BIG TIME!

8. Anyone can be a referee

It doesn't matter how fit you are, how old you are or whether you're male or female, officiating is open to anyone over 14 who has a good attitude and patient demeanor.

9. Great support and camaraderie

WPSLA has some great support initiatives to make sure that when you are out there, you're not alone.

10. Earn a little extra money

Locally, every game you referee will be paid and payments are made on the spot, at each game.  Officials can make thousands of dollars during the Spring season.
